Congratulations Randy Van Zee and Bob Thunselle winners of the 2007 “Gut Check” with a time of 36hrs:45min. Quite an accomplishment considering the less then ideal conditions. Also Congratulations to Kevin Brady the only other solo finisher.  Congratulations to the 2-Person Relay Team of Dunlap&Tau for winning that division with a time of 37hrs:26min.  Also nice job Crank Brothers Leap Frog team with a finish of 34hrs:41min. Thank you to all of you for coming out and giving this event a shot it was a tough go this year.

Amount Raised As Of 10-1-07: $5,141.00

Jay Stevens of Littleton CO was the top fund raiser with $1,070.00

 

The reason for this race is to raise awareness and funds to find a cure for Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.  For information regarding these diseases please visit the “Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America” website: www.ccfa.org.  The CCFA is a non-profit, volunteer driven organization.

 

 

 

Registration Fees:

$100.00 or more in pledges for the CCFA from each rider.  Print as many pledge sheets as necessary.  All donations are tax

deductible and every donor will receive gift acknowledgement with the amount of their gift from the CCFA.

 

 

Registration Deadline:  July 1st, 2007

All registered riders will receive a dog tag style ID.  Use the race registration form to provide us with the information you would like on your ID.  Such as your name, emergency phone numbers, blood type, allergies, or possibly a motivational quote.

Race Rules & Info:

Race check in and packet pick-up will take place prior to the start of the race from 2:00 – 2:30 p.m. (Mountain Time) at the “Welcome To Wyoming” sign on HWY 212 northwest of Belle Fourche SD.  Only the first rider in the relay teams needs to check in at the start, the other riders can check in at their relay exchange locations.

 

Personal support vehicles are permitted.  There will be no neutral support vehicles.  Headlight and taillight are mandatory if you plan on riding after sunset or before sunrise.  The race route is Highway 212, no other route may be used.  Exact location for relay exchanges will be made available soon.  If you are not familiar with the route it would be advisable to carry a map of South Dakota with you during the race.  We are not responsible for accidents.  Please read the waiver and release of liability form.  Sign the form and send it along with your registration and pledges.

 

Once I start to receive registration forms I will list the participants on this site.  Results of the race will also be available at this site at the conclusion of the race.

 

Post race BBQ & Awards Presentation

The post race BBQ and awards presentation will be held in Watertown SD at McKinley Park about 5:00p.m. CT. 

 

Awards & Prizes

All Entrants:  Receive an event cycling jersey.

 

Solo Winner:  Male and female solo winners will receive the “winners” cycling jersey and free entry into next years race.

Rider 1: SD/WY Border to Gettysburg = 226 miles                          Rider 2: Gettysburg to SD/MN Border 186 miles

 

4 Person Relay:   Exchange 1: Faith          Exchange 2: Gettysburg          Exchange 3: Redfield

Rider 1: SD/WY Border to Faith = 113 miles                                   Rider 2: Faith to Gettysburg = 112 miles

 

Rider 3: Gettysburg to Redfield = 81 miles                                       Rider 4: Redfield to SD/MN Border = 106 miles

 

Leapfrog Relay:  Unlimited number of riders.  Exchange whenever, wherever, and as often as you like.
